Thanks to Sam bringing the Custom Gem to Dimension 1, Grim can't call the power of the X ShadowGem (I mean, the dude's twisted, but I think he wants to keep the dimension in 1 piece), allowing you to beat him up! Just make sure he doesn't beat you up first, as even without his OP rock, he's still a very formidable opponent.
